Each week, students receive handwritten messages from homeroom teachers and other school staff, providing specific feedback on current performance and strategies for improvement. Teachers are trained throughout the year on how to write effective messages to adolescents and pre-adolescents, and spend time with colleagues and Win/Win personnel to improve on the quality of the messages.

During the first professional development session of the school year, every teacher receives a resource guide for writing messages that are personalized, specific, and intentionally inviting to students. Teachers refer to this guide throughout the year, both while writing messages and during weekly professional development meetings.
